Nationally renowned puppetry artist Hobey Ford takes you behind the scenes of his award winning "Turtle Island Tales, Songs and Stories of the Native Americans". Ford takes you into his studio to show and tell the story of the creation of this beautiful puppet production. From set design to his incredibly realistic carved foam characters, Ford shares many of his unique techniques of puppetry. He shows how slide projections of illustrated scene paintings are combined with intricately articulated shadow puppets to create the world of Turtle Island Tales. Vignettes of the performance were recorded at The Jim Henson International Festival of Puppetry.
